Janie Harper Design was born out of my passion for creating homes. I know firsthand that interior design projects are so often time-consuming, overwhelming and even downright intimidating to a lot of homeowners, but good design is truly so important. So, that's where I come in - I want to make myself available to anyone and everyone who is in need of good design.

I’ve known for most of my life that I wanted to go into the design field and went on to pursue it in college, majoring in Interior Design at the University of Georgia's Lamar Dodd School of Art. From there I was drawn to Charleston, SC for it's energetic design community and rich historical importance. I'm thankful for all that these places and experiences taught me and thrilled to be home in Atlanta putting it to use. Through all of this and as I’ve grown and learned more about the practice of interior design, I’ve realized its significance and now consider it an honor to be a part of the home-building process.

Although we often grow comfortable in our environments and are unable to realize what needs improving, I am a strong believer that interior design can drastically impact daily well-being and improve your quality of life. The way a window is placed to allow soft morning light into a kitchen can brighten your morning mood. The arrangement and spacing of furniture in a living room can promote good conversation and lead to happy memories made. The colors and textures in a master bathroom can encourage relaxation after a long day. A bold paint color can be exciting, a durable fabric can allow you to rest easy and a wallpaper can make you smile. Sometimes it takes a renovation and other times just the smallest of changes and updates to your home can make a world of difference.

The things that make you, the client, happy and enhance the way you live in your space are the things I prioritize - not the price tags or how photos might look in my portfolio. I do, however, admittedly take pride in the “Testimonials” page on this site. It brings me so much joy to have formed lasting relationships with clients and to have created homes and spaces with them and for them that are beautiful, efficient, and meaningful.

Whether it’s a new build, a large or small scale renovation or a full room redo, all that matters is that it will improve your living environment and ultimately your quality of life. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any space, any budget or any request. My desire is to make meaningful spaces that are easy to live in for everyone that I can.
